For most people, holiday eating means abandoning diets and gaining weight. A little advance planning can help prevent that post-holiday bulge without ruining your holiday feast and without you worrying about how you are going to find out six pack ab exercises once the holiday season is over and you get the shock of your life when you step on the scale.
1.  Do not imbibe in cocktails.  This can save you a lot of calories.  Alcohol is fattening.  It also leads to overeating.  It is difficult to avoid the temptations of food if you are not completely in control.
2.  Snack on something healthy when you are going out.  You’ll be less likely to fill up on sweets and high-calorie appetizers.   The less of the unhealthy food that you eat, the better off you will be and you will be less likely to be searching for a plan that shows you how to lose weight fast when you realize that the pants that you used to wear to work no longer fit around your waist.

3.  Keep physically active during the holidays.  Exercise is an important part of how a person feels and getting enough exercise will allow a person to stay more alert, fit and trim no matter what time of year it is.

4.  Bring fat-free or low-fat dishes to potluck parties. Maybe some one else will follow your lead.  Not everything that is eaten at holiday time is unhealthy.  Taste is not determined by how many calories are in a dish.

5.  Skip the pre dinner festivities and the foods that come before the meal will not lead you to overeating.  If you are trying to make the right choices, you will be confronted with very few options before a meal begins.  The best thing a person can do to keep from eating them is to never see them in the first place.

6.  Skip the sugary foods and pieces of candy that tempt everyone by offering healthy alternatives to snack on.  Most people will not miss the sweets.

7  Attend only the parties you really want to go to.  You’ll save a lot of calories and time.  Not going to all affairs will be very beneficial to you body in just about every way.  A person’s schedule is never big enough to fit everything that they want to do.  The stressful feeling is also not good for your health.

8.  Do not try to be a gourmet chef.  At times, the best food that is served is the one that was the easiest to prepare.  There are plenty of us who would rather have a healthier dish to choose from.

9.   Set realistic goals. At a holiday dinner or party, indulge in some goodies, but eat smaller portions and try to make the best choices that you can but you do have to avoid everything and should indulge in some of the foods that you crave just keep it under control and you will not be looking for something that shows you lose weight fast once the parties have ended.

10.  Make sure that you eat normally during the Christmas season.  Not eating will leave you hungry and that means it will be harder for you to make the right choices when confronted with a lavish buffet.  Eating small meals throughout the day will help you limit what you eat at any one meal.

11.  Make sure to take it easy and enjoy yourself.  If you break down and eat a high-fat dessert, just go easy on what you have the rest of the day or cut back a few calories tomorrow.  Do not go through the season with regrets.

12.  Consume at least eight glasses of water daily.  Staying hydrated is an important part o fall weight loss programs.

Christmas time does not have to be the worst time to eat healthy.  You do not have to start the new year trying to lose weight if you do this.
