When Will My Pregnancy Symptoms Start?

One of the earliest thoughts for many women, after discovering they are pregnant, is about the possibility of pregnancy symptoms and when they will start. The reality of pregnancy symptoms is that they are generally not very severe and only last a few weeks, although there will many horror stories you will be told by your friends and relatives.

Pregnancy symptoms are not the same for everyone, and may even be dofferent from one pregnancy to the next. Most women discover that their symptoms only last for a few weeks, but there are a few unlucky women whose symptoms go on for months. These symptoms are usually thought to be minor when compared to the promise of a baby. Invariably phone your medical professional if your showing just about any symptoms associated with early signs of pregnancy.

The earliest symptoms may start not long after conception because there is a sudden surge of hormones that assist the fertilized egg implant firmly to the uterine wall. Tenderness of the breasts and an increase in size, are early pregnancy symptoms. The early symptom of nausea can start within the first few weeks after your first missed period, at six weeks pregnant, but will normally disappear by the time you are twelve weeks. Once again telephone a medical professional as well as midwife if you are developing any kind of early pregnancy signs. Only a small number of women have any nausea after the 1st trimester.

The major reason for pregnancy symptoms is the increase in hormones like HCG, estrogen and progesterone that start to impact the mother’s body from around 12 to 14 days after conception. Most women feel symptoms after they have missed the first period, but others, who have been pregnant before, might feel them sooner.

Probably the best-known pregnancy symptom is morning sickness, although many women get this at times other than the mornings. This is one of the first symptoms to be felt and may be experienced as early as a week after conception. Although uncomfortable, this symptom is usually gone by the 14th week. Eating smaller, lighter snacks more often can ease the worst of the nausea; also slowly eating a dry cracker can help when the nausea strikes.

Near the time of your normal period, there may be some slight bleeding or spotting, that is a pale pink color. The name for this is implantation bleeding and it may start between 8 and 10 days after ovulation, which is when the fetus implants into the uterine wall. Light bleeding up to around 12 days is a normal symptom and nothing to worry about.

Another pregnancy symptom which creates discomfort is the felling that you need to urinate more often; this is caused by the growing uterus pressing on the bladder. While you feel as though you need to urinate more often, you may not really need to. As the fetus grows even bigger, particularly during the third trimester, you will find this symptom will increase.

You may feel constantly tired during pregnancy, more than your activity levels indicate. It is best to eat small regular snacks; rest as often as you can and have regular light physical activity to keep healthy. You might also feel some light-headedness and dizziness because the enlarging uterus presses down on some of the major arteries in the body.

The pregnancy hormones tend to slow digestion, causing symptoms of constipation or heartburn. Drink water through your day and eat foods that are high in fiber to counteract these symptoms. During the first trimester you might also experience other pregnancy symptoms like mood swings, weight increase, nose bleeds, irritability and headaches, but these usually disappear by 12 weeks.

In every case speak to your physician for virtually every medical difficulties.
